Abstract

|
Amyloidosis is a group of conditions of diverse causes characterized by the accumulation of ultrastructually fibrillary material in various tissues in quantities sufficient to compromise vital organ funtion. The associated disease states may be
inflammatory, hereditary, or neoplastic, and deposition can be local or systemic.
We report a case of amyloidosis which was diagnosed in a 49-year-old female patient by means of liver and kidney biopsy and was presented with characteristic nephrotic syndrome and hepatosplenomegaly.
